One of England’s most wonderfully located fortresses. This Castle which is over 600 years old. There are spectacular views of the estuary and the sea. This is an incredible family day out. This castle was used in the Civil War and the Second World War. There have been renovations, the Victorian 'Old Battery', which presents heavy guns, guardrooms and many passages to explore. You may take a river boat trip up to the castle, which will park you a minute away from the castle’s entrance. Spend the afternoon in riverside tea room for snacks and beverages. Stroll down the coastal and woodland walks by the castle where there are wildlife and birds to observe.
