The view from the top of the tower with the rolling timeline was an excellent suggestion to start the visit. The museum is well split up, and brilliantly informative. Here is an interesting museum on site as well as the exposed Roman Fort area. A 35m high viewing tower gives great views over the site and surrounding area. The viewing tower is especially great as you can see the entire layout of the fort as it is now and would be both in Roman and shipbuilding (1800's) times, plus a good view of the river.
