Very interesting place with fascinating history. Plenty to explore and discover. Excellent castle ruins with large areas extant, very evocative, full of interest and information, beautiful stone, great views, nice river walks accessible from outside. It's a lovely peaceful place and it's interesting to think they built this so many centuries ago and it is still standing strong. A proper castle that's still pretty much intact. A fabulous place for children to explore and imagine what it must have been like to live in a castle and its community up to 800 years ago. So much interesting history, so much to read from the building itself. Once you've completed the castle tour there is a short walk and enjoy paddle boat ride.
