This Abbey is Scotland’s best -preserved group of monastic buildings. In the early 1100s, the Augustinian cannon settled here. It was repeatedly attacked by English raiders during the wars of Scottish independence. Wonderful place with a beautiful ruin. Apart from the Abbey you can walk around all of the WW2 sea defences on the island. Take a short boat trip to the beautiful island.
