This Abbey and Palace is the stunning example of Romanesque architecture in Scotland. It was built in the 1070s as a priory. Once home to the Kings and Queens of Scotland. Following the 1603 Union of Crowns, it was seldom visited by the monarchy and fell into disrepair.
