Description

This palace is one of the most accomplished examples of Renaissance architecture in Scotland. This palace was built in the early 1100s. Two excellent buildings, ruins - depending on how you see them. Others palace dates back to the 1600s. A very interesting glimpse into how they lived in these 2 different periods. Well presented by Historic Scotland, many sings and labels to help understand the use of the various parts of the buildings. Amazing buildings. Lots of history here. There are many rooms to explore and the grounds are lovely.
