This castle was built in 1573. This is a wonderful castle to visit if you are in the area as it is full of Royal History. Everything in the castle has been left as it was, when it was generously gifted to the trust in 1996. You see the magnificent stairs the Queen Mother still used on each visit. Take the guided tour as you will get a great insight into the working of this magnificent Royal Castle. Lovely gardens and the animal centre are nice especially if you have children with you. A great venue for those of you who have an interest in the monarchy.
